Latest Paintings 2019

I’m continuing to follow a path of discovery from expressionist paintings to abstract expressionism and on to abstraction. This month I focused on the weather, along with a personal architecture narrative. I have always appreciated building from a anthropomorphic perspective as well as their ability to store and suggest secret memories. I also finished Michelle Obama’s box and was struck by her discussion on poverty, poor nutrition and lack of food. She spoke of ‘Food Deserts’. I finished on painting that fits more into my figurative/ social activism body of painting that I have been building over the last three years or so.

I think I’m going to call it Morning Incident.  We’ll see. Oil on canvas, 22×28 inches, February 2019
